Nexus
Terms of Service
Last updated:
These terms govern your use of Nexus, the accounting and ERP service at app.mjqnexus.com provided by MJQ Nexus ("Nexus", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using Nexus you agree to them. If you use Nexus on behalf of a company, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms for it.
1. The service
Nexus is a cloud service for invoicing, purchasing, inventory, accounting and reporting. We keep improving it, so features may be added, changed or retired. Features that are planned but not yet available are labelled as coming, and you shouldn't rely on them until they are released.
2. Your account
- Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password safe; we strongly recommend turning on two-step verification.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has accessed it.
- Your company's administrators decide who can access its workspace and with which permissions.
3. Your data
Your company owns the business data it puts into Nexus. You allow us to host, copy, process and back it up only as needed to provide, secure and support the service, as described in our Privacy Policy.
You can export your data at any time — lists and reports to Excel, CSV or PDF, and the FTA Audit File.
4. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for the accuracy of what you record in Nexus and for your own tax filings and legal compliance. Nexus helps you prepare reports such as the VAT-201 return and the FTA Audit File, but it isn't tax, legal or accounting advice. Review your figures before you file them, and consult a qualified adviser where needed.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Nexus for anything unlawful, fraudulent or misleading;
- try to access another company's data or any part of the service you aren't permitted to use;
- probe, scan or test the security of the service without our written permission, or try to get around its security;
- upload malware or anything designed to disrupt the service, or place an unreasonable load on it;
- copy, resell or offer the service to others without our written agreement.
6. Plans and fees
You can start using Nexus free of charge. If we introduce paid plans, we will show the price and ask for your agreement before charging you. Prices exclude VAT unless stated otherwise.
7. Availability and support
We work to keep Nexus available and your data safe, including encrypted backups every six hours, but we can't promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may need short maintenance windows and will try to schedule them outside UAE business hours. Support is available by email at [email protected].
8. Suspension and closing an account
You can stop using Nexus and ask us to close your account or your company's workspace at any time.
We may suspend or close access if these terms are seriously breached, if there is a security risk to the service or to other customers, or if the law requires it. Where reasonable we will warn you first and give you the chance to fix the problem.
After a workspace is closed you have 30 days to export your data; after that it is deleted as described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Intellectual property
Nexus — its software, design and brand — belongs to us and our licensors. These terms give you the right to use the service, not ownership of it. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them to improve Nexus without any obligation to you.
10. Third-party services
Some features rely on other providers, such as Google for sign-in. Your use of those providers is also subject to their own terms.
11. Disclaimer
To the extent the law allows, Nexus is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind beyond those stated in these terms.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to Nexus is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or AED 1,000 if you haven't paid us anything.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under UAE law.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will publish the new version here with a new date and, for material changes, tell you by email or in the app at least 14 days before they take effect. If you keep using Nexus after that, the new terms apply.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Dubai. The courts of Dubai have jurisdiction over any dispute.
